UFC News: Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz will headline Mexico event
UFC is all set to take over Mexico with Fight Night 168 which will take place inside the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho on 15th February 2020 and the promotion has apparently locked in on the main event too.
Per ESPN's Brett Okamoto, the Mexico card will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz which will decide the next contender for the light heavyweight title after the fight between Jon Jones and Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 on 8th February in Houston, Texas. This is not the first time Anderson and Blachowicz will be locking horns though, as the pair met each other at UFC 191 where Anderson ended up beating Blachowicz. Anderson recently hogged the limelight after he smashed Johnny Walker with a vicious KO at UFC 244. Anderson is high on momentum and will be looking to make it count in the fight against his Polish counterpart.
His opponent Blachowicz, who famously knocked out Luke Rockhold at UFC 239, won his last fight against Ronaldo Souza via split-decision at UFC Fight Night 164. Blachowicz will be looking to avenge his earlier loss to Anderson and take one step closer towards the coveted light heavyweight gold.
