UFC News: Current champion takes a big shot at Jose Aldo on Instagram
Henry Cejudo isn't afraid to be the second most annoying heel in the UFC. The first place goes to Colby Covington, of course!
Triple C took to Instagram to declare himself the 'Real King of Rio' while also tagging undisputed MMA king of the Brazilian city, Jose Aldo.
After dominating the Featherweight division for years during his prime, Jose Aldo will finally make his Bantamweight debut against Marlon Moraes at the upcoming UFC 245 event on December 14th, a card that will be headlined by a Welterweight title fight between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington.
The former UFC Featherweight Champion's move down to the 135 lbs weight class has naturally kicked off the speculation about Aldo potentially going up against the current Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo in the future.
Triple C realizes that he can pocket a big sum if he fights Aldo and he has already begun taking shots at the Brazilian MMA legend.
Cejudo and Aldo have traded barbs ever since the former WEC Featherweight Champion was announced to enter the Bantamweight division. If Aldo does manage to get past Moraes in his first test at 135, the UFC could be tempted to book a big-money fight between Triple C and Junior.
Cejudo is currently out with a few injuries but is expected to be back in action in the first half of 2020. The holder of the UFC Bantamweight and Flyweight titles could be forced to defend the latter against Joseph Benavidez next year or face the prospect of vacating the 125 lbs belt due to inactivity,
There are many potential money fights on the table for Cejudo, however, a showdown against Aldo looks like the most lucrative of the lot.
For that to happen, Aldo would first have to defeat 'Magic' in the final UFC event of the year.
