UFC News: Dana White accepts Anderson Silva's apology
The UFC is under the new ownership of WME-IMG group but the man on the throne remains the same: Dana White. The company’s most loyal employee, Anderson Silva recently sounded displeased with the way the UFC has been treating him recently stating UFC’s lack of respect for his contributions.
However, Dana White response opposed Silva’s comments. Now the humble ‘Spider’ has expressed his apologies to his boss.
Anderson Silva is undoubtedly the most respected UFC fighter of all time, not just for his greats deeds when it comes to fighting, but also for the respect he demonstrates in and outside the Octagon. However, he expressed his displeasure recently about the way the UFC has been functioning in recent times.
Silva complained that he wasn’t appreciated enough for taking fights on short notice. Especially, pointing out his last fight against Daniel Cormier which was a light heavyweight bout.
According to bjpenn.com, here’s what the Spider had to say:
“I was very disappointed with the lack of respect that the UFC has been treating the Brazilian athletes with. I’m an athlete who took the sport to another level. I don’t get, or have got, people’s due respect. This has made me very upset, sad, and disappointed with the UFC.”
According to reports from Tmz.com, Anderson Silva apologised for his remarks which were graciously accepted by Dana White:
“Of course (I accepted Anderson’s apology). I love Anderson Silva. “I told ya that he had nothing to complain about,” said White when TMZ asked him about the issue.
It looks like the MMA legend is frustrated with his career lately as he hasn’t enjoyed any recent success. He has bagged a single fight, which was also declared no contest, since losing his title to Chris Weidman back in 2013. His recent fight with Michael Bisping and Daniel Cormier didn’t get him any luck either.
