UFC News: Dana White says he's willing to book McGregor vs Khabib rematch on 2 major conditions

UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has been very open about the fact that he has no interest in a rematch against Conor McGregor. He said that the Irishman needs atleast "ten more wins" to get a title shot, which is a stretch in itself, but the UFC doesn't view it the same way.

UFC 229 was by far the highest-selling PPV in the company's history, being the first to cross well over 2 million. It was, however, marred by controversy at the end when the champion Nurmagomedov jumped outside the cage to engage in a scuffle with Dillon Danis. It led to further chaos that suspended the champion for over six months and he had to wait 11 months before getting back inside the Octagon.

When he did, he defeated Dustin Poirier decisively. He's set to face Tony Ferguson on April 18th, 2020 while Conor McGregor returns to the Octagon on January 18th to headline UFC 246 against Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone.

In an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Dana White revealed that he would be interested in booking a rematch between Khabib and McGregor on two major conditions - if both men win their upcoming fights.

“He’s gotta beat Cowboy Cerrone, which is a very tough fight, especially at 170, without Cowboy having to cut any weight. Then, Khabib has to beat Tony Ferguson. If both those things happen, then yeah, I think we can make the rematch.”

While many fans would love to see this, it doesn't feel like the right match-up to make at this moment. McGregor was dominated by the Champion and only won the third round because Nurmagomedov used that period to slow down before amping it up in the next one.
