UFC News: Dominick Reyes foresees rematch after beating Jon Jones in February event
Dominick Reyes is gearing up for the biggest battle of his life when he faces the UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones in February. Reyes knows that Jones has never lost apart from a disqualification for an illegal elbow in a fight he was winning and beating him will shock the world. Reyes also believes that after beating Jones for the first time, many will brand the win as a fluke and will call for a rematch.
Speaking to MMA Fighting, the undefeated Reyes said,
“Absolutely. I look forward to the rematch. I’m already planning the rematch in Cowboy Stadium. That’s already in the works. I already know what’s going to happen. I’m going to beat him, it’s not going to be enough. Perfect, let’s do it in Cowboy Stadium except this time it’s my pay-per-view.”
Reyes is confident heading into the fight and says that taking him lightly could turn out to be fatal for Jones.
“I’m definitely not the one you want to act cocky with. I mean I hope he doesn’t but if he does, better for me.”
For Reyes, this is personal. As much as he wants the gold wrapped around his waist, he wants to tear through the aura of invincibility around Jones.
“It’s Jon Jones. This is bigger than the title. Yes and no because the title’s big but not only winning the title but you’re beating arguably the best to ever do it. It’s huge. It’s (expletive) huge.”
