UFC News: Donald Cerrone and Rafael Dos Anjos pick McGregor to win at UFC 205
UFC will hold its inaugural event in New York at Madison Square Garden. The UFC is only ten days away from hosting one of the biggest events in the history of combat sports, UFC 205, which will feature a battle between UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor, and UFC lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez.
While it has been noted that a majority of fighters dislike the Irish champion, his rivals Donald Cerrone and Rafael Dos Anjos, have picked McGregor over Alvarez as the victor of their fight.
‘Cowboy’ Cerrone has had a few altercations with McGregor during press conferences in the past. And when Rafael Dos Anjos was the lightweight champion, he was scheduled to defend his title against McGregor. However, the match was called off, as Dos Anjos pulled out, citing a leg injury as the reason and was replaced by Nate Diaz.
Many have bet their money on McGregor to win the bout with his precisive striking abilities, especially with the power he has in his left hand. Mystic Mac demonstrated great knockout power when he dismantled Dustin Poirier. Furthermore, his finish when he faced Jose Aldo that took 13 seconds, proved nothing less.
Alvarez, on the other hand, is a brawler who doesn’t mind risking himself, while going in for the kill. He has faced both Dos Anjos as well as 'Cowboy' Cerrone. Alvarez had defeated RDA with a first round knockout to win the UFC Lightweight Championship back in June, but he fell short of victory against the Cowboy during his UFC debut.
The betting has already begun, and many fans have got their money on McGregor. The Notorious one will be the first fighter in UFC’s history to hold titles in two divisions simultaneously if he does beat Alvarez.
