UFC News: Footage of CM Punk's horror movie, The Girl on the Third Floor, has been released
What’s the story?
CM Punk (real name Phil Brooks) is currently everywhere except in the professional wrestling world. Several days ago, the former WWE champion revealed his next role in mixed martial arts, which will see him as a color commentator with Cage Fury Fighting Championships, an MMA group located in the northeastern United States. CFFC's shows air on UFC's Fight Pass streaming service.
Now, exclusive footage of CM Punk’s first role as the lead in the horror film, "Girl on the Third Floor”, has been released through Chicago's WGN9 television news o.
In case you didn't know...
“Girl on the Third Floor” stars CM Punk as Don Koch, a husband looking for redemption in his marriage after making countless mistakes that have damaged his wife's trust. With his wife pregnant, Don buys an old house and views fixing it up as a way to show her that he’s truly sorry for the pain he’s caused in their relationship. However, as Don begins fixing up the old house, he realizes that he's dealing with more than he bargained for.
The film also stars Trieste Dunn (Banshee), Elissa Dowling (We Are Still Here) and newcomer Sarah Brooks. Travis Stevens, producer of We Are Still Here and Buster’s Mal Heart is making his writing-directing debut on the film, which he produces with Greg Newman, Giles Edwards and Nicola Goelzhauser.
The heart of the matter
CM Punk stopped by Chicago’s WGN9 and released an exclusive clip of his horror film, which is slated for release in theaters sometime next year.
Punk previously had a guest role in Marc Maron’s IFC comedy series Maron and is set to appear in the feature remake of David Cronenberg’s Rabid.
What’s next?
As previously mentioned, Punk will transition as a color commentator for Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) for its first-ever event on UFC Fight Pass on Friday, December 14.
