UFC News: Frank Mir will make his pro-wrestling debut on WWE WrestleMania weekend
What's the story?
The number of professional Mixed Martial Arts fighters making the switch to professional wrestling seems to increase every day.
Following the success of the likes of Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Matt Riddle, etc. the latest fighter making the change in his career, is the former UFC fighter and MMA legend, Frank Mir. Not only is he making the change, but his debut will also be on an important weekend for the world of professional wrestling.
In case you didn't know...
Ronda Rousey's success in WWE has helped many other UFC and Mixed Martial Arts fighters to look over to WWE and wrestling as a whole as an alternative to their MMA careers. Although UFC is arguably the more legitimate of the two sports, professional wrestling requires quite a lot of skill as well, and the years of training behind any good MMA fighter always helps in the transition.

It may still take a while to adjust to the completely different style of working in the business, but if they are able to make the change in their approach, then finding success is not altogether difficult.
The heart of the matter
Frank Mir is about to make his professional wrestling debut on WrestleMania weekend. He has been booked to compete for former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett's: Bloodsport event.
It should be noted that Bloodsport is not the traditional form of pro-wrestling, with the style followed in the promotion focusing on hard shots and submissions. The matches take place on elevated platforms, based on Jean Claude Van Damme's Bloodsport movie.
What's next?
While Mir has hinted at retiring from MMA, this could be the beginning of a new part of his career. The event is set to take place on WrestleMania weekend, in Jersey City, New Jersey on the 4th of April.
