UFC News: Joanna Jedrzejczyk declares herself the female 'BMF'
Former UFC women’s strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk has declared herself the female 'BMF' of the fight game. Many come and go but according to Jedrzejczyk, no-one in the women's division of the UFC could ever scale the heights that she and former UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey have. (h/t MMA Mania)
Speaking to South China Morning Post, Jedrzejczyk claimed that she is the cleanest striker in the UFC.
“People used to call me violent, savage. Jorge just won the belt – the baddest mother ****** belt. I want to be the female BMF. These girls can make it, they can win the belt, but there’s nobody like Ronda Rousey, like me. People can doubt me, and they’ll do that forever, but show me a better, cleaner fighter in the UFC or in general.”
Title shot in the fray for Joanna
Joanna is expected to go up against the current strawweight champion Weili Zhang in an epic title clash sometime next year, which comes as a reward for her dominant display against Michelle Waterson at the main event of UFC Fight Night 161.
However, Jedrzejczyk had to endure a severely rough patch prior to her fight against Waterson where in her last four bouts, she succumbed to three defeats in as many title fights and it looked like her time at the top of the women's strawweight division had run out. Like a true champion though, she recovered and got back to winning ways and now she awaits another crack at the title.
