UFC News: Jon Jones takes a dig at doubters following USADA policy changes
USADA recently announced its decision to relax the allowed intake levels of several banned substances in order to keep fighters clean.
Speaking to MMA Fighting, USADA CEO Travis Tygart elaborated on the matter.
“Even now in the U.S., we’re seeing prescription medications bought from reputable pharmacies that are made over in India and China and they have levels of contamination that are totally fine from a health and safety standpoint and the FDA isn’t concerned with the low level of contamination but it’s such given the technology in the laboratory that it will cause a positive test.”
UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones has made headlines in the past after testing positive for banned substances, and he recently took to Instagram to aim a dig at his doubters.
“With not one but two biological brothers being Super Bowl champions, could it be possible that maybe I’m just a God gifted artist with a solid work ethic!?”
Jones has faced a lot of heat from USADA previously for testing positive for Turinabol, Clomiphene and Letrozole which he claimed came from the erectile dysfunction pills that he took. However, the champ has proved himself time and again inside the Octagon, making one successful title defense after the other.
Jones is next set to take on the undefeated Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 in February.
