UFC News: Chan Sung Jung says The Notorious one has messed up the featherweight division

First ever submission victory via ‘Twister’ in the UFC

Chan Sung Jung is close to leaving two years of compulsory military service in the South Korean army. Awaiting to make a return, he weighs in on the change of situation in the featherweight division with Conor McGregor being the new star of the weight class and the UFC itself.

According to Korean Zombie, The Notorious one has meddled with the 145 pounds division. Here’s what he said in an interview with Chris Taylor on bjpenn.com’s Rapid Fire:

“Conor McGregor has made a mess of the featherweight division. I don’t think he’ll be coming back to featherweight, though. A lot has happened in my time away. We’ll have to see what happens. We have to see if McGregor is going to defend the belt or not. I doubt it, though.”

McGregor has been absent from the division, ever since he won the title from Jose Aldo last December at UFC 194. He has fought three times outside the division and still managed to keep the belt.

As a result, Interim Champion, Jose Aldo is reluctant to continue his fighting career. He constantly demanded a rematch with McGregor. However, the Irishman had other plans outside the division.

The Korean Zombie last fought in 2013 in a featherweight title fight against former pound for pound fighter, Jose Aldo. He has also expressed his desire to fight McGregor, but according to him, Mystic Mac is never going to return to the featherweight division.

“Since I don’t think he’s coming back down to featherweight, we probably won’t get the chance to fight,” Jung said. “But, obviously, he’s become a big star and is making lots of money. I honestly don’t know if it’s good for the sport since he’s just looking after himself,” he said.
