MMA analyst Robin Black of The Fight Report reported that Ronda Rousey was “very upset” in the back, and needed to be consoled after her face-off with Amanda Nunes in the final UFC 205 press conference. In case you didn’t see what happened, here is the clip

As you can see, Ronda Rousey storms off, as Joe Rogan approaches and starts to ask Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes questions. According to Dana White, this was a mistake from the production team, and the original plan was to have both competitors walk out as soon as the staredown was over. Here’s what White said:

"My production guy screwed that up. It made Ronda look bad again – like she just stormed off. They were not supposed to do an interview. They were supposed to go out there and square off, and they were both supposed to walk away."

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed that Ronda Rousey was upset after the face off and had to be consoled.

If it truly were a production mistake, then Dana is right in saying that it made Ronda look bad. It will be interesting to see how it all affects her emotional state when going into the December 30th championship fight main event at UFC 207. Ronda has not been in the Octagon since November 15th last year, when she got knocked out by Holly Holm, handing her her first career defeat.

While Ronda would definitely have looked for a rematch against Holly Holm to get her win back, Holly does not look to be near the title picture for now, after suffering back-to-back defeats at the hands of Miesha Tate and Valentina Shevchenko respectively.

Regardless, Ronda Rousey was always going to get a rematch for the title because of her drawing power, and the fact that she remained undefeated and dominated her division for so long.

When asked by Ellen Degeneres about her future in MMA, the former Bantamweight Champion admitted that this upcoming fight would, in fact, be one of her last
