UFC News: Tony Ferguson bashes McGregor and lightweight division, for not calling him out

‘El Cucuy’ Tony Ferguson finds it interesting nobody is calling him out at lightweight

Rapidly rising UFC lightweight contender, Tony ‘El Cucuy’ Ferguson, is making quite the statement in the 155-pound division with his eight-fight winning streak.

However, the D’arce choke specialist finds it quite surprising that his fellow lightweights, and current 155-pound title challenger, Conor McGregor, are yet to call him out for a potential future bout down the line. Here what he told Fox Sports’, Fight Society Podcast:

"You don't hear McNugget (Conor McGregor) saying my name. You don't hear (Eddie) Alvarez saying my name. You try to have Khabib (Nurmagomedov) trying to surpass me and getting a fake belt from his country. This is what I'm about."

Ferguson will get his opportunity to get a big money fight with a potential win over Rafael dos Anjos this Saturday (November 5, 2016). The former Brazilian 155-pound champ is coming off a title loss to the current champ, Eddie Alvarez.

A win for Ferguson over ‘RDA’ could catapult him to the front of the line, for a shot at the division’s crown. It will come at no easy task, however, as Dos Anjos is one of the most feared lightweights to have ever ruled the division in the history of the promotion.

‘El Cucuy’ will certainly be participating in the biggest fight of his life, come fight night in Mexico City. If he can capitalise on the opportunity, it may be only a matter of time, before we see the fan-favourite, reign at the top of the UFC’s most talent stacked division.

Dos Anjos and Ferguson will meet in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter Latin America Season 3 Finale (TUF Latin America 3 Finale) live on FS1, from the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico, this Saturday night.
