UFC News: Tyron Woodley called out for a big fight on Twitter
Leon Edwards has laid out the gauntlet for a fight against Tyron Woodley, and the #4 ranked Welterweight wants the showdown to happen at UFC's London show next March.
Edwards took to Twitter to issue a challenge to the former UFC Welterweight Champion.
UFC recently announced that they would return to the O2 Arena in London in March 2020. The company is expected to put together a stacked card for the show, and having Birmingham native Leon Edwards fight at the event is a logical decision to make.
Edwards has been pushing for a fight against Woodley for the past three months, and his manager even revealed recently that the fight will be booked as soon as T-Wood signs the contract.
Edwards is on an impressive 8-fight win streak, and he feels that Woodley is the best possible opponent for him before he moves towards a potential shot at the Welterweight title, that is if he wins the proposed fight.
Woodley has not fought since losing the title to Kumaru Usman at UFC 235 in March earlier this year.
UFC needs to determine a definite #1 contender, as Usman and Colby Covington will square off against each other with the title on the line in the main event of UFC 245.
For the UFC matchmakers, Woodley vs. Edwards is the best choice.
