What's the story?
Tyron Woodley's next Welterweight Title defense has been confirmed with reports suggesting that Woodley will next step back into the Octagon against Kamaru Usman at UFC 235.
In case you didn't know...
Woodley is coming off a highly successful 2018, having defended his title against the likes of Stephen Thompson, Demian Maia, and Darren Till at UFC 228, in some of the most entertaining and dominating fights the Welterweight Division has ever seen.
The heart of the matter
Woodley was reportedly set to defend his Welterweight Title against Colby Covington in one of the most highly-awaited Welterweight fights of all time, however, as per a report from ESPN, Woodley is now set to step into the Octagon against 'The Nigerian Nightmare' Usman.
According to reports, both fighters have agreed to fight each other on the 2nd of March at UFC 235 and with Usman coming off a huge win over former Lightweight Champion, Rafael Dos Anjos, the Nigerian born star has definitely made his case for a shot at the Welterweight Title.
A fight between Woodley and Usman is likely to be in the co-main event slot for UFC 235 after it was initially reported that Jon Jones will step right back into the Octagon against Anthony Smith at the very same event.
With Usman surpassing Covington for a shot at the Welterweight Title, it'll be interesting to see if the UFC is at all interested in giving 'Chaos' the next shot at the Championship.
