UFC star shares interesting theory about Colby Covington wearing sunglasses during interviews

UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad has fired another shot at Colby Covington, this time claiming 'Chaos' wears sunglasses to hide the fact that he is reading from scripts.

Belal 'Remember the Name' Muhammad is on a seriously impressive nine-fight undefeated streak, with his last defeat coming almost four years ago. As he now, sits at No.4 in the division's rankings. Muhammad has been pushing for a fight with the No.2 ranked Covington to stake his claim for a shot at the title.

At UFC 286 last week, Colby Covington shocked fans by making a surprise return to the scales as he was confirmed as the back-up fighter for Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. Following 'Rocky's' victory, Dana White stated that 'Chaos' would fight Edwards next for the title.

The decision to award Covington yet another title shot angered Belal Muhammad as Colby Covington hasn't stepped into the octagon in over a year and came up short in his two previous attempts to win the title against Usman in 2019 and 2021.

Vying to get the attention of Covington and force the UFC's hand to make a fight between the two, Muhammad took to Twitter to take aim at the 35-year-old's decision to always wear sunglasses during his interviews. He wrote:

"Colby wears sunglasses in his interviews so we can#t see his eyes looking down to read a script."

Chael Sonnen weighs-in on whether or not Colby Covington deserves another title shot

Former UFC fighter-turned-analyst Chael Sonnen has suggested that Leon Edwards "needs" Colby Covington as their potential fight is the biggest the division can make.

'The American Gangster' explained that other fighters such as Belal Muhammad, Shavkat Rakhmonov and the winner of Gilber Burns vs. Jorge Masvidal are more deserving, but Covington's dominance of the media at UFC 286 is more important to the UFC brass.

Sonnen stated:

"Colby's had his head in the sand for a year. He resurfaced five days ago, and he stomped all of you in the headlines. Stomped you! He has stomped -- It's not even close...Colby is crushing you guys, and he's been hiding out for a year. I only bring that to you because it's really something that you want to look at. It's not a side that Leon understands. And you know what? There's something very endearing about that."
