WATCH: Adriano Moraes shares training camp highlights on Instagram
Adriano Moraes is approaching the biggest fight of his career to date. Recently announced for ONE on Prime Video 10. Moraes will face ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson in the rubber match of their trilogy.
In 2022, Moraes fought twice inside the circle, kicking off his year with a victory at ONE X. After shocking the world last year with his knockout over Johnson, Moraes produced another dominant world title defense against Yuya Wakamatsu, winning via submission.
In his second outing of the year, Moraes came up short against ‘Mighty Mouse’ Demetrious Johnson. At ONE on Prime Video 1, Johnson returned the favor with his own highlight reel knockout of Moraes to set up a blockbuster trilogy in the new year.
In a recent Instagram post, Adriano Moraes shared what he has been up to since his last fight. Between spending time in the gym sparring and getting himself in even better physical shape, Moraes shared short clips of his life outside the gym.
From short clips posted, not dissimilar to that of a Rocky training montage, Moraes already looks like he is in phenomenal shape heading to his massive bout in May.
Moraes and Johnson’s epic conclusion to their trilogy, which has already produced two great fights, will headline ONE Cahmpionship’s debut on US soil. Scheduled to take place at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, it’ll be a huge event for the promotion with a main event befitting the occasion.
Fans react to Demetrious Johnson vs Adriano Moraes III in ONE’s first event on U.S. soil
Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes will be facing each other for a third time to close out their trilogy when they headline ONE Championship’s debut in the USA.
On May 5, ONE on Prime Video 10 will be hosted in Colorado, USA. With a huge event in the promotion’s history, the main event will live up to that billing when Johnson and Adriano Moraes settle their score after sharing an incredible win over the other in their previous meetings.
Unsurprisingly, the announcement from ONE Championship about the fight prompted a positive response from the fans:
Long-time Demetrious Johnson fan Conner Neill commented:
"Let’s gooo champ!! You have always been my favorite since you were the ufc flyweight champion and my inspiration for me being a small guy and wrestling and doing jitsu at 125 that us small guys can still dominate just like the big guys but also being an amazing person. Let’s gooo Mighty Mouse!!!"
With both fighters previously winning via knockout from a knee strike, ONE Championship fan CJ Evans added:
"Of course. Maybe we will get a double KO from flying knees."
Jiu-Jitsu player Jacob Shariq is incredibly grateful to have his trilogy booked, he said:
"Best trilogy ever. I'm so excited for the simultaneous double knee KO where we go to replay to see who gets the belt."
