ONE Fight Night 6 results: Stamp Fairtex ekes out split decision win over Supergirl
On Friday night, Stamp Fairtex stepped into the circle to face 19-year-old Muay Thai standout Anna Jaroonsak.
Originally scheduled to face Anissa Meksen in a mixed-rules superfight, Stamp needed a replacement opponent after Meksen was forced to pull out of the event the day before it got underway.
Anna Jaroonsak wasted no time in the fight once the bell had rang, imposing her reach advantage on Stamp and backing her up throughout the opening round.
In the second, Stamp needed to make the right adjustments to stop herself from being bullied by the larger woman, and she had more success. Whilst she attempted to counter everything that Jaroonsak threw at her, the pressure and range was still a dominant factor.
The pace began to slow in the third, with Jaroonsak continuing to stalk, but her volume saw a significant drop. Stamp circled the outside of the cage, content to let Jaroonsak march forward and tire herself out.
As Jaroonsak’s hands began to drop, Stamp was able to effectively counterstrike and looked significantly fresher than Jaroonsak as the final bell rang.
The official result saw Stamp Fairtex defeat Anna ‘Supergirl’ Jaroonsak via split decision.
