When Joaquin Buckley invited Conor McGregor to "come and bully" him instead of Sean O'Malley and Ryan Garcia

Joaquin Buckley dared Conor McGregor to step inside the octagon with him for a potential clash in the past, after the American fighter's dominant win against Nursulton Ruziboev.

Buckley dominated Ruziboev with takedowns, top control, and heavy ground-and-pound to earn a clean unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 56. Ruziboev had his moments early with wild strikes and a flying knee, but Buckley’s pressure and control never faded.

In the post-fight interview, Buckley aimed straight at McGregor and accused the Irishman of avoiding true welterweights. He mocked McGregor's history, and also his then-social media spats with Sean O'Malley and Ryan Garcia. He said

"Conor McGregor, I want you. You fighting at 170, but you ain't fighting a welterweight. You're fighting a lightweight midget. Come at me. You said you built your weight up, but you're bullying Sean O'Malley and Ryan Garcia. Come and bully me, dog. Let's see what you're really about. I did research on the McGregor name, and you come from a long, long line of McHoes."

He added:

"Your daddy was a hoe. You granddaddy was a hoe. Your great, great grandpappy was a hoe. So I guess it's safe to say, your momma raised a hoe. And guess what? If you don't respond, and I bet the money I ain't even got that you won't, the whole world knows I'm telling the truth. It's my time, and if you want to be the king you've got to behead the king. It's time to take the throne."

When Daniel Cormier fired back at Joaquin Buckley after criticizing his callout of Conor McGregor

Daniel Cormier hit back hard after Joaquin Buckley responded with insults to criticism over his Conor McGregor callout. Following Buckley’s dominant win at UFC on ESPN 56, his post-fight challenge to McGregor drew backlash from UFC analysts, including Cormier, Chael Sonnen, and Michael Bisping.

Buckley lashed out on social media, accusing the trio of disrespect and misrepresentation. Cormier responded swiftly, calling out Buckley's tone and comments. He took to X and wrote:

"Shut up pu*sy! Maybe listen. You had a dumb ass call out. You’re getting talked about by 3 of the biggest voices in the game. Maybe listen. It was the worst callout in history. Don’t let winning a few fights at 170 lbs get you too excited, bruh. Don’t mention Audrey!"
