When Joe Rogan was blown away by a stone-cold Rose Namajunas reciting a bible verse in the middle of a face-off with her opponent

Joe Rogan once revealed he was blown away by Rose Namajunas as he prepared to interview her ahead of her rematch against Joanna Jędrzejczyk in 2018.

At the time, Namajunas was set to defend the UFC women's strawweight title in a rematch against Jędrzejczyk, having won the belt from 'JJ' the year prior. 'Thug' would go on to defeat the Polish star once again, this time winning via unanimous decision.

Prior to their bout, however, Rogan stated that Namajunas had sent shivers down his spine just before he was about to interview her at the ceremonial weigh-ins for the bout.

Speaking to Namajunas herself about the incident on episode #13 of the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) podcast, the UFC commentator recalled witnessing the-then strawweight champ recite an entire bible verse to Jędrzejczyk during their face-off. He said:

"You f*cked me up and I was about to interview you. I'm like 'She's got this thousand yard stare' and I was like 'What were you saying?' And you said you were saying the lords prayer and I was like 'Jesus Christ'. It was like the devil and the priest. The two of you together, it was like an exorcism. It was one of my favorite staredowns, the entire build-up, everything."

When Joe Rogan shared a controversial take on an MMA rule he wants changed

Joe Rogan once admitted that he'd like to see the rule changed about referees standing fighters up from the ground.

Whilst still regularly mentioning it on UFC broadcasts he's working, especially if a referee stands two fighters up, Rogan wants to see the rule removed entirely. According to the JRE host, regardless of if there's not much action happening between the two fighters on the mat, it should be up to the fighter who was taken down to get back up, not the referee.

Speaking on episode #61 of the JRE MMA Show with octagon ref Herb Dean, Rogan said:

“I don’t think someone should be able to get up. I don’t think you should stand people up – ever. I think once a guy takes you down, the fight is on the ground. If it’s boring for the audience, tough sh*t. If you’re on the bottom, get up. And if you can’t get up, tough sh*t."
