When Joe Rogan discussed potential Conor McGregor vs. Mike Perry bare-knuckle fight: "It would get a million PPV buys at least"
Joe Rogan once delved into the significance of a potential Conor McGregor vs. Mike Perry bare-knuckle showdown. 'The Notorious' made an unexpected appearance at the BKFC 41 event in April 2023 in Colorado, even stepping into the squared circle to staredown with Perry, who had secured a second-round TKO victory over former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in the main event.
The unanticipated presence of the UFC superstar was a monumental moment for BKFC, instantly grabbing the attention of the entire combat sports community. McGregor's ventures beyond the octagon are well-known, with his iconic crossover boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in August 2017 still fresh in the minds of fans worldwide.
During an episode of the JRE MMA Show in June 2023, with 'Platinum' as a guest, the veteran UFC commentator mused over the idea of an actual bare-knuckle fight between McGregor and Perry:
"If he decided to do that. If somehow or another they [UFC] gave him the green light to do that, I can’t imagine how that could ever happen, but if it did. If that happened in a bare-knuckle fight, that would be f**king bananas. He’s a very good kicker [too]."
Rogan added:
"He can do everything, but if, somehow or another, he agreed to fight bare-knuckle, I mean, Jesus Christ, do you know how big that would be? That would be wild. If they did that in bare-knuckle, it would get a million pay-per-view buys at least. Probably more."

'The Notorious' has a significant stake in BKFC, having become a part-owner of the promotion this past April. However, that’s not the only involvement McGregor has in the organization. He recently hinted that his future fighting endeavors might take place in the BKFC squared circle.
When Joe Rogan inquired about Mike Perry's choice to leave MMA for BKFC
Since leaving the UFC in 2021, Mike Perry has thrived as an undefeated bare-knuckle fighter. Emerging as the leading star in BKFC, 'Platinum' has achieved remarkable victories over high-profile opponents, including Michael 'Venom' Page, Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez.
During the same episode of the JRE MMA Show, Joe Rogan questioned the former UFC welterweight fighter about his choice to transition to bare-knuckle boxing after stepping away from MMA and how he has excelled in the sport.
Perry responded that he believed it played to his strengths and that he was eager to brawl in the boxing ring:
"You know, it’s just a real fight to me. I still go to the gym, and I do MMA. I love boxing so much, though; it’s my forte. It’s like what I’m good at. Cause I’m cool to take a punch and get hit. I’ll take a hit to land a better one on you. In bare-knuckle, there’s a lot of opportunity."
