When Liam Payne shut down Logan Paul's idea of boxing match with Justin Bieber
Liam Payne contemplated the possibility of competing in boxing during his appearance on Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast in June 2022.
While discussing the prospects of a potential boxing match against other celebrities, the podcast hosts asked Payne if he would be interested in fighting American rapper Michael Lamar White IV, popularly known as Trippie Redd. Payne responded:
"Trippie Redd doesn't want the smoke."
Paul pitched the idea of fighting Justin Bieber but Payne politely refused it, saying:
"I don't think he'd do it. I think he'd be very skilled to do it. I'm not calling him out. I don't think he'd do it."
When asked to elaborate on his opinion that Bieber would not want to fight him, Payne implied that the American singer would be tough for him to handle in the boxing ring. He said:
"[Bieber wouldn't fight me] For the same reason I wouldn't fight Trippie Redd. I'm not on his level."

Liam Payne shared his thoughts on competing in boxing and fighting Jake and Logan Paul
Speaking in the aforementioned episode of the Impaulsive podcast, Liam Payne said that he would not compete in boxing to be able to fight someone he didn't like. He then highlighted what he would enjoy the most if he were to compete in boxing:
"Who do I want to fight? Who don't we like? There's not many people I don't like. I'd just enjoy the challenge. I'd just enjoy the road up to [the fight]." [1:00:50]
He then shared his thoughts on fighting Paul brothers, Jake and Logan, who have become the face of the influencer boxing circuit. When asked if he would fight Logan Paul, Payne said:
"Nah, I like him too much."
However, he seemed to be a little more inclined to explore his options against Jake Paul, saying:
"Would I have to come up weight slots or would he come down?"
Unfortunately, Payne passed away on Oct. 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31 years old.
