When UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili split his head open during an outdoor swimming adventure gone wrong
UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili's carefree attitude and shenanigans have produced some entertaining moments for fight fans. While he has gotten away with a lot of things that could potentially hurt his fighting career, Dvalishvili once sustained a head injury while trying to swim outdoors.
In a viral social media video from 2021, Dvalishvili dove head-first into a frozen lake. Unfortunately, his head split open upon impact with solid ice. The Georgian fighter came out of the lake with blood visible on his forehead. He said while heading over to get medical attention:

Dvalishvili seems to have suffered linear lacerations on the skin and not a serious injury as he only received staples for closure.

Despite this, the 33-year-old thoroughly dominated Sean O'Malley with a superior game plan at Noche UFC 306. He earned a unanimous decision victory and became the bantamweight champion.
