When UFC fighter Merab Dvalishvili was left unimpressed after trying Indian street food in Mumbai
UFC bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili once struggled to satisfy his tastebuds during his visit to India. Dvalishvili visited the country earlier this year to promote the sport. He explored the local cuisine during the visit but did not seem to enjoy it too much, if at all.
In a video posted on Instagram, Dvalishvili shared his experience of trying local street food in Mumbai. As the vendor prepared the dish, Dvalishvili said:
"Actually, I am not sure if I want to try this. It's very dangerous."
Dvalishvili, who did not seem to enjoy the taste after the food was served to him, jokingly said to a bystander:
"If you're smart, don't try it."

The video of Dvalishvili went viral on social media and drew hilarious reactions from fight fans. The Georgian-American fighter appeared on The Ranveer Show podcast shortly after and shared his thoughts on Indian street food:
"Yesterday and today we tried the street food. This is more natural and I like it."
When asked if it caused digestive issues, Dvalishvili said:
"Actually, I'm doing pretty good. No problem. So far, so good. I'm good."

Merab Dvalishvili is optimistic about the future of MMA in India
During his visit to India, Merab Dvalishvili had a meet and greet with MMA fans alongside fellow UFC fighter Anshul Jubli. He also interacted with several celebrities and MMA enthusiasts.
In the aforementioned episode of The Ranveer Show podcast, Dvalishvili, who seemed to be surprised at the massive following for the sport in the country, said:
"I feel it, man. I was surprised to see so many fans and so many people asked me some serious questions. People recognized me in the street. It feels good and I am happy. Because you guys are a big country. I know you guys have wrestling, you have an Olympic bronze medalist in freestyle wrestling. I am sure India will pick up MMA easily."
