Who is the hardest puncher in heavyweight boxing? Tyson Fury gives his take

Tyson Fury believes that he, and not Deontay Wilder, is the hardest puncher today.

'The Gypsy King' is currently slated to return to the ring this Saturday night in Saudi Arabia. There, he will face Francis Ngannou, who is making his boxing debut. For 'The Predator', he's expecting to enter this weekend's matchup as a massive underdog.

However, he's confident that the coaching of Mike Tyson, as well as his unreal power, will guide him through. Ngannou is arguably the hardest puncher in MMA history, but it's not like Fury hasn't eaten some heavy punches. The WBC titleholder faced 'The Bronze Bomber' on three separate occasions.

Across those three bouts, Tyson Fury was able to absorb punches from Deontay Wilder and score two wins. One would imagine that this would inspire confidence in the heavyweight champion, given his former opponent's famed punching power.

However, Fury doesn't even believe that Wilder is the hardest puncher in the division. Instead, speaking to TNT Sports, the British boxer gave that honor to himself. In the interview, he stated:

“I’m an aggressive knockout puncher now, for sure. People say that Deontay Wilder was the biggest puncher in heavyweight boxing, but I beat him. I knocked him out. So, I take that crown. I’m the biggest puncher in heavyweight boxing, me.”

Tyson Fury makes prediction for Deontay Wilder vs. Anthony Joshua

Tyson Fury might not like Deontay Wilder, but he does believe that he will knock out Anthony Joshua.

'The Bronze Bomber' and 'AJ' are currently in talks for a fight later this year, as they have for most of 2023. They were first eyeing a clash in Saudi Arabia, but financial promises from Skill Challenge Promotions fell through.

Quickly, Eddie Hearn and company began to eye a different location. Las Vegas, as well as London, were pitched for 2024, but it seems that Joshua has other plans. Earlier this week, he revealed that the bout could take place on the undercard of Fury's clash with Oleksandr Usyk next year.

Tyson Fury isn't sure about all of that undercard talk, but he does know who will win. Speaking to Boxing Social, he stated:

“Do you need me to answer that? I think we all know what happens. I’d love for AJ to knock him out, because Wilder’s a little b****. He’s a moaning p****, forgive me for my language. But I just see [Joshua] getting chinned to be honest.”
