Ronda Rousey talks WWE Divas championship, her love for wrestling, more

Ronda Rousey is the UFC’s first ever female fighter

Ronda Rousey is one of those people, you'd wish there would be more of. Certainly, the current UFC Women's bantamweight champion is someone who doesn't lack diversity in her career. In a recent interview, she said she's “ready” for the WWE.

She has previously made appearances on WWE TV with The Rock at Wrestlemania 31, where she famously tossed Triple H to the ground using her Judo skills. Rousey, who has been a Judoka since she was 11, is also undefeated in the UFC.

She flaunts a long list of accolades, including being ranked as the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the women’s division being the major one.

Rousey on joining the WWE

Rousey said that she was ready to join the WWE after stating that she had helped Natalie Neidhart train with the rest of the ‘Four Horsewomen’. Rousey also said that she would consider the move to promote the cause of women in the sport of wrestling and that she would do her part in making it possible, without necessarily having to take credit for it.

Rousey went on to stress on her inclinations. "I'm really encouraged by the progress I've seen with what they're doing with the women in WWE, but I feel like there's a lot more than can be done," she said.

She expressed her excitement for the prospective women in the sport, who had joined in from WWE NXT. She also said that the new fighters would be a different type than what has been seen as ‘Divas’, and that she wanted to contribute to this agenda.

Breaking down stereotypes

Rousey also stated that she and her girlfriends loved to watch wrestling, breaking down whatever other stereotypes that the public may harbour. She finished then commenting on her possible appearance in Wrestlemania 32, to spark what may be the next outbreak of rumours to plague social media.

"Uh, well, I'm going to be filming at that time – and I don't want to ruin any surprises anyway. If you're a wrestling fan, you'll just let it happen.", said Rousey, being an actor.

She is bound to have her hands full with engagements in all these endeavours and she is set to defend her title yet again in the UFC 193 in Melbourne on November 15th, against Holly Holm.
