WWE/MMA news: Vince and HHH's response on The Beast's UFC 200 dominance
The whole combat world has been talking about The Beast, Brock Lesnar upon his UFC return. The WWE Superstar made his return to the Octagon at UFC 200 when he stepped in to take the Super Samoan, Mark Hunt.
The fight was one of the most anticipated fights in the heavyweight division. This match was a typical grappler vs striker match, Lesnar with his amateur wrestling background and Hunt being a kickboxing legend.
The fight seemed slow as Brock was cautious enough to attempt takedowns and Hunt was measuring his opponent while trying to land big shots. Brock with his superior grappling abilities out-wrestled Hunt who was unable to tackle each time he was taken down. The former kickboxer managed to scramble to his feet several times but the Beast would get the best out of him and put him down, finally earning him a unanimous decision victory.
Post the historic UFC 200 event, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and Triple H had a few words complimenting Brock on his victory. ESPN analyst and former WWE personality Jonathan Coachman, former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen, and ESPN Bret Okamoto had shared what McMahon and Triple H had to say.
The WWE Chairman put out his statement crediting his WWE employee-
“Brock is the most formidable combat athlete in the history of the country.”
HHH expressed himself stating -
“To come back after all this time and put on that kind of performance speaks to the once in a lifetime type of athlete that Brock is.”
Lesnar will make his return to the squared circle when he will face Randy Orton at the upcoming WWE pay-per-view at Summerslam on August 21st at Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York.
