WWE/UFC News: CM Punk's next UFC fight in 4 or 5 months
The topic of CM Punk’s career has always been widely discussed ever since his departure from the WWE in early 2014. His switch to MMA did not begin with the brightest of starts after he lost to Mickey Gall in under two minutes.
Ever since the jaw-dropping defeat, several questions have arisen regarding the future of Punk's MMA career. Punk’s coach Duke Roufus recently spoke with Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting, where he was asked about Punk’s return. His response to the question was:
“Maybe 4 or 5 months.”
This fact would suggest that Punk’s next fight might take place at UFC 210 which is scheduled to be held on March 4, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He further talked about the training regimen and Punk’s improvement as an MMA fighter:
“He’s going to get better. Obviously, he didn’t perform the way we wanted to perform.
We had some things he was doing really well with, he just didn’t happen. It’s just going to take time. But the great thing is he has an incredible attitude, and he’s very thankful for the opportunities.”
Earlier it seemed like Punk’s MMA career might be over before it began after Dana White suggested in an interview that Punk should not head back to the octagon ring again. Here is the excerpt of the video where White speaks about UFC 203:
Punk being a resolute character dashed down the thought and according to allwrestlingnews.com, he recently revealed that he was working on his return and had a talk with White regarding his next fight:
"I told him I want to fight again. We're back at it. We're back to the drawing board. So it's up to him. He floated me an idea and we're kind of going back and forth on it right now,"
It would be interesting to see how the 38-year-old makes a comeback as he might not get another chance if he fails this time. Here is the video of Punk speaking about his MMA future after his fight against Mickey Gall at UFC 203.
