Joe Rogan and Demetrious Johnson get deep about 'trying to let go of being perfect'

Demetrious Johnson and Joe Rogan recently discussed some people's obsession with the 'Perfectionist' mentality.

In a recent episode of the JRE MMA Show, Demetrious Johnson revealed how his approach towards fighting has changed over the years. According to 'Mighty Mouse,' everyone will eventually meet their end. Thus, he has learned to stop fretting over winning or losing.

The ONE flyweight champion further advised his fans against belittling people, saying:

"You're gonna die someday. So, why the f**k do you worry about winning or losing. Are you having fun? Yeah? Okay perfect! Who cares if you win or lose?... And then there's something ASAP Rocky said, 'When has it ever been cool to knock someday down?' It's never been cool. Whoever made it cool to belittle someday or whatever is not cool right? So, that's always in the back of my head."

The 36-year-old said:

"I think the last sparring session after the [second] Adrian [Moraes] fight I was like I went to a concert, had two beers, had a f***ing chicken sandwich and I'm like I need to enjoy my life because eventually, I am going to die right? And I don't want to be at my deathbed and I was like, 'Man I was so strict!' and all that stuff like. I want to enjoy my life."

Reacting to the 'The Bronze Bomber's spectacular KO win, popular podcaster and UFC color commentator Joe Rogan took to his official Instagram handle to laud the heavyweight.

Calling it a "Touch of death," Rogan wrote:

"Itā€™s absolutely f**king amazing the power that @bronzebomber can generate. Heā€™s truly unlike anyone Iā€™ve ever seen in the history of the heavyweight division. You can make no mistakes with this man. There have been many incredible KO artists in the history of boxing, but for my money heā€™s the most impressive. If you look at this punch it wasnā€™t even with full leverage and his opponent instantly shuts off. Itā€™s what the great @firas_zahabi calls 'the touch of death.'"
