5 Exotic armor pieces you should get for Destiny 2 Revenant Act II

Destiny 2 Revenant Act II is launching with significant changes to the core gameplay loop. One such loop lies within the roaming super abilities, where players can get their energy back twice more often than in previous updates. This is being implemented to make a few older Exotics viable in the current meta and encourage players to build around these abilities in PvE.

This article lists five Exotic armor pieces every player should have across all three characters, as their worth will significantly increase with the Act II launch. Note that the following armor pieces include all three classes and do not include Exotic Class Items

Star-Eater Scales, and 4 other Exotic armor pieces to have in Destiny 2 Revenant Act II

1) Doom Fang Pauldrons

One of the oldest Exotic armor in the game, the Doom Fang Pauldrons for Titans, seems to be getting its glory back with Revenant Act II. The gear piece can increase Void damage and grant super energy upon melee kills. However, the main focus here is the extended duration of the Sentinel Shield super ability, which can be triggered by hitting a target with a Void shield.

Hence, the gameplay loop should be as follows: Activate Sentinel Shield super -> defeat targets with melee attacks -> melee kills will recharge shield throw -> throw the shield to extend the super duration -> repeat.

The roaming super buff will also come into play, where kills with the Sentinel Shield will refund significantly more energy. This will be more efficient if players can keep extending the Sentinel Shield's duration by following the gameplay loop mentioned above.

2) Apotheosis Veil

Another old Exotic armor from the Warmind DLC, the Apotheosis Veil, relies on Warlock's super activation for regenerating other abilities. With the energy-gain buff in Act II, players can utilize this gear piece to further enhance other abilities, allowing them to constantly activate a super, followed by their Grenade and melee. Any roaming super can work with this as long as the user is getting kills and generating orbs.

The usual gameplay loop should be as follows: Activate super to regenerate health and abilities of yourself and nearby allies -> score kills to get the energy back faster -> increase regeneration speed of Grenade and melee once the super ends -> use the Grenade and melee abilities to collect any energy left for the super to be fully charged -> repeat.

3) Ballidorse Wrathweavers

This particular gear piece will favor players who love to freeze enemies with the Stasis Warlock builds. However, only this time, the spotlight goes to the Winter's Wrath super, which is one of the best for controlling mobs in an endgame activity and defeating some smaller targets to take the pressure off. Pairing this ability with this Exotic, however, greatly enhances its function.

Ballidorse Wrathweavers can increase the shatter damage to enemies, which will also be buffed from 100% to 150% in Revenant Act II. Additionally, allies can get Frost Armor and deal increased damage with Stasis weapons. Lastly, granting all these buffs to allies will grant extra super energy to the user.

Hence, this can be stacked with the energy-regain buff coming to roaming supers, allowing the users to have close to 100% uptime on Winter's Wrath. The gameplay loop should be as follows: Activate Winter's Wrath -> deal increased shatter damage to enemies -> allies gain Frost armor and increased damage to Stasis weapon -> granting these buffs will increase the super recharge rate for the user.

4) Star-Eater Scales

Star-Eater Scales have always been a fan-favorite due to the increased super damage it can provide. However, the idea is the same here, where players can overcharge their ultimate ability and pair this Exotic with anything to get bonus damage. However, one additional perk of Star-Eater Scales also allows the user to gain bonus super from picking orbs of light.

In the end, it's just about making orbs of light as much as possible and empowering your super before casting it. Since this Exotic will not help you gain 100% uptime on your super abilities, having the most powerful burst options is favorable. Some examples include Marksman Golden Golden Gun, Spectral Blades and Arc Staff.

5) Raiden Flux

Raiden Flux caters directly to the Arc Staff super of Hunters, where the duration and damage increase upon quick successive hits. Destiny 2 Revenant Act II is also buffing the increase in damage per stack, where the overall increase will hit 70% from 50%. With the overall duration and the energy refund change done to sandbox, Raiden Flux will be a powerful option for the Arc Staff super.
