Archon's Thunder updated god roll guide for Destiny 2 PvE and PvP
Archon's Thunder returns in the loot pool of Destiny 2 Revenant's Iron Banner. However, players will see plenty of changes done to this Heavy weapon, as it is no longer a Solar elemental gear piece with the usual perks. Starting this season, the Archon's Thunder is a Stasis Machine Gun that still fires at 360 RPM, and underwent an overhaul in the perk pools.
This article lists the updated god roll for the Archon's Thunder in both PvE and PvP. Note that since it is recommended for players to use a high RPM Machine Gun against other players in PvP, Archon's Thunder can prove to be underwhelming when firing in tight situations.
Note: Iron Banner weapons cannot be crafted by any means. Hence, a player's only choice for a god roll is via drops. However, each perk can be enhanced by leveling the weapon up using materials.
Archon's Thunder PvE god roll in Destiny 2
Here is a list of perks recommended on the Archon's Thunder Machine Gun for PvE:
- Arrowhead Brake for increased Handling and reduced recoil.
- Appended Mag for a significant increase in magazine size.
- Rimestealer for gaining Frost armor upon defeating a frozen target, or destroying a Stasis crystal.
- Headstone for spawning a Stasis crystal upon precision kills.
The aforementioned combination can be used against the most challenging foes, and you'll still be able to clear out rooms, while having great survivability. However, to deal increased damage to bosses and elites, the combination of Fourth Time's the Charm and Target Lock is recommended.
On the other hand, having Fourth Time's the Charm and Rewind Rounds will help you fire the weapon endlessly in a boss fight.
Archon's Thunder PvP god roll in Destiny 2
Here is a list of perks that will work the best on Archon's Thunder for PvP:
- Polygonal Rifling for increased Stability.
- Accurized Rounds for more Range on the weapon.
- Dynamic Sway Reduction for increased Stability after the initial pull on the trigger.
- Onslaught for increased fire rate after kills with the weapon.
The combination of Rimestealer and Headstone can still be good in PvP, as having Frost Armor can work wonders in endgame competitive PvP.
