Avalanche updated god roll guide for Destiny 2 PvE and PvPĀ

Avalanche was one of the first Machine Guns in Destiny 2 to have the powerful Incandescent perk for the Solar element. This perk was once used across every Solar build, as it synergizes greatly by spreading elemental debuffs. Avalanche, being a Heavy weapon, allowed players to clear away rooms full of powerful mobs in the most challenging activities, including mini-bosses as well.

The Dawning weapon has been added to the 2024 event loot pool with several new perks catering to different roles, as players can use this piece for boss DPS, and PvP as well. This article lists the best perks on the Avalanche for PvE and PvP.

Here is a list of all recommended perks on Avalanche for PvE boss DPS:

  • Arrowhead Brake for increased Handling and reduced recoil.
  • Appended Mag for increased Magazine size.
  • Rewind Round for getting ammunition back, based on the number of ammo fired.
  • Target Lock for increased damage based on how long the weapon is being fired on an enemy.

The perk combination mentioned above synergizes well with each other, as both perks require you to keep firing the weapon endlessly on a boss.

However, other perks such as Subsistence and Incandescent can bring in an entirely new role for the Avalanche, as they are meant to clear away large mob groups in the most challenging activities. If you need survivability, replace Subsistence with Heal Clip.

We recommend you to get two versions of this same weapon, one for dealing with bosses, and another for clearing away annoying mobs in endgame content.

Here is a list of all recommended perks on Avalanche for PvP:

  • Smallbore for increased Stability and Range.
  • Accurized Rounds for increased Range.
  • Dragonfly for an elemental explosion upon kill.
  • Incandescent for solar explosion upon kill, and spreading scorch to adjacent targets.

The aforementioned combination is meant for 6v6 scenarios, where players are usually next to one another. For a more 1v1 approach, Dynamic Sway Reduction and Target Lock are recommended.

How to get Avalanche in Destiny 2

Avalanche can be focused from the Decoding section of Eva Levante. The price for getting one randomized version of the weapon is 1 Gift of Return and 21 Dawning Spirits. Note that there are upgrades for getting two perks in one column, which is highly recommended since it will increase your chance of getting a god roll.
