Brighter Shores Gathering Profession guide

Gathering is one of the four Professions in Hopeforest, Brighter Shores' second Episode. This skill follows the same rules as Foraging from the last Episode, and its application is also the same as the use, i.e. brewing potions and leveling up the Alchemist Profession in the process. However, note that Gathering does not fully supplant Foraging, as higher-tier variants of materials from Hopeport still get used in higher-level potions.

This guide will give you a rundown of the Gathering Profession in Brighter Shores, what to expect, and what kind of materials you can get.

How to Gather resources in Brighter Shores Episode 2

Gathering, as you would expect, works the same way as Foraging in Brighter Shores. You collect resources from different tiles on the map, which gives you the ingredients and levels up the Profession through active XP. Also like Foraging, the Gathering materials respawn 45 seconds after they have been harvested, so use this to plan your farming route.

Gathering resources also spawn in the adjacent tiles, and you'll eventually need to collect all if you buy them manually. Naturally, the first thing you should do is discover the map of Hopeforest, for which, you'll have to advance the Main Quest till you encounter your first magic crystal in the forest.

Once you're done, you can start by gathering Globeplant all the way back to the area next to the town gate (Road to Hopeport), and the adjacent tile Forest Clearing. These can be sold to the Reagent Vendor back in Hopeport, so you can teleport back if you want to make some money. The faster way, however, is to drop the items on the ground to immediately do another rotation. From our testing, dropped items still persist between teleportations to other maps, but we're not sure for how long.

Farm Globeplants till you're lvl 2, then switch to getting Faded Dandelion from Huntsman's Clearing and Mushroom Glade to the south of Forest Clearing. These don't respawn within a full rotation between the two tiles, so to mitigate downtime, you can also add in the Ash Logs from Timberwell Road if you have the Hand Saw.

Afterward, you'll need to buy a Hand Rake, which can be obtained from Timberwell Supplies. To get there, go south from Timberwell Road to Timberwell Green, then take the first western exit to reach Timberwell Side Road. Timberwell Supplies can be accessed from here.
