Brighter Shores: How to get Hand Rake
If you're trying to level up Gathering in Brighter Shores, you'll soon need to get a Hand Rake. Similar to the Foraging Profession in Hopeport, Gathering is gated by a few tools you'll need to purchase, Hand Rake only being the first one. However, Hopeforest is much more labyrinthine than the smaller port town of Episode 1, which makes it hard to figure out where to get this tool.
Fortunately, this guide will help you get your hands on a Hand Rake in Brighter Shores.
How to get the Hand Rake in Brighter Shores
To obtain the Hand Rake in Brighter Shores, you have to purchase it from Vencent at Timberwell Supplies for 43 Silver 200 Copper.
If you've just arrived at the Hopeforest region, don't worry; Timberwell Supplies is not far from the starting location. It's likely that you've already explored the map up till Huntsman's Clearing to forage Dandelion, but we'll start from the beginning for convenience's sake.
From Road to Hopeport (next to the Town Gates to Episode 1), go east to Forest Clearing, and then take the southern exit to reach Huntsman's Clearing. Continue going south past Timberwell Road till you reach Timberwell Green, a giant logging site in the middle of the woods. The north-western passage from here takes you to Timberwell Side Road, where Timberwell Supplies can be found directly to the north.
Similar to the Forager Warehouse from Episode 1, Vencent is the vendor that sells all Gathering tools. Chiefly, there are just two: the Hand Rake and the Sickle (discounting their upgraded versions that you can buy to make leveling up Gathering easier). Here's what Vencent sells:
He also sells all types of containers. So, if you get to Woodcutting Level 20 and want to lop branches, you can buy baskets from here.
If you want to earn back the 43 Silver spent here, this is the perfect area for that as well. Timberwell Greens is the starting point of the two big money-makers in Episode 2 — Woodcutting and Carpentry.
