Brighter Shores Spider's Nest quest guide

Spider's Nest quest in Brighter Shores is a side quest that revolves around saving an NPC named Toblaine who is trapped by a Titan Spider. In addition to earning a lot of EXP points, you can unlock the Storage Rift Spell by completing this quest. The spell will allow you to store items in your bank from any of the Storage Rift Markers scattered around the map.

You must travel around the map, complete specific tasks, and fight several enemies as you progress through the quest. This article will walk you through the Spider's Nest quest in Brighter Shores.

Brighter Shores: How to unlock the Spider's Nest quest

To unlock this quest, you must have a skill level of 32 in Carpentry. Getting to this level takes a lot of time, so the best method is to first reach Level 20 by performing normal carpentry tasks.

After that, you can collect Knowledge Points and convert them into EXP. Also, be sure to level up your Carpentry to the point where you unlock passive training, which will help you earn EXP passively when you are not playing.

Starting the quest

Go to the Cliffside Path area in Hopeforest to start this quest. This area is located on the eastern side of the map, where you will find an NPC named Toblaine who is trapped in a spider web.

Upon interacting with him, you will get your next task, which is to rescue him. In your first attempt, you must climb the cliff from the left and try to make it to Toblaine. However, there will be a Titan Spider on top of the cliff, and it will knock you down as you try to cross the ledge.

After falling, you will meet another NPC named Alannor, who will tell you that you must distract the Titan Spider with Tar Rats. To get that, you must go to the camp at the Small Clearing in the southern part of the map.

Getting Tar Rats

When you get to the Small Clearing, you will find an NPC named Hamish Truefire, roasting some Tar Rats on a campfire. When you ask him whether he can give you one, he will ask you to get him some items. These items are:

1x Golden Marrow

Go to Mr. McGrish's Garden near Timberwell Green to get this Marrow. When you ask him for a Golden Marrow from his garden, he will refuse, and you must pretend to be a member of the fruit and vegetables committee. However, you will need a committee badge to convince Mr. McGrish.

To get the badge, travel to the Huntsman's Lodge located near the Huntsman's Clearing and speak to Kedwick Shalstanger. He will agree to lend you his badge, but you have to prove your hunting skills by killing a Spriggan. You can find Spriggans near Treeway Junction and Treeway Trail.

Kill one of them and return to Kedwick to get his badge. Then, travel to Timberwell Green and get a Green Marrow from the garden next to the side road. After that, start traveling towards Mr. McGrish's Garden, but you will find some gold paint on your way. Use the paint to make the Green Marrow look like a Golden one. When you reach Mr. McGrish's house, use the fake Golden Marrow to replace the real one from his garden.

1x Snake Eyeball

You can get a Snake Eyeball by killing vipers at Snake's Clearing and Snake's Path.

2x Uncoated Anti-Acid Shields

This is the part where having Level 32 Carpentry is needed. You must get one Ash Log and use it on the circular saw in the Carpenter's Workshop. After that, go to the workbench to craft the wood planks into two shields.

You can then return to Hamish Truefire and use all the materials to craft Uncoated Anti-Acid Shields on the campfire.

Ending the Spider's Nest quest by rescuing Toblaine

Once you give Hamis all that he needs, you can obtain a Tar Rat and head back to the Spider's Nest. Put the Tar Rat on the Big Flat Boulder to lure the Titan Spider. As soon as you do this and the Spider is distracted, a mob of Level 35 mini Titan Spiders will appear. Defeat them all and then rescue Toblaine, thus ending the Spider's Nest quest in Brighter Shores.
