To start the Brannof Inheritance quest in Brighter Shores, you need to speak with a member of the Brannof family named Hayley Brannof. You will find her in Hopeport's Scrapyard, as she is its owner. She will tell you her family's story and ask you to help her find her inheritance.

There are four clues that will help you get to the inheritance, and Hayley will give you the first one: a Swirl clue. She will also tell you that the next three clues are with Lord Brannof, James Newtap, and Oswald Hadley.

Lord Brannof's clue

You will find Lord Brannof in Brannof Hall, located near the Town Square in Hopeport. He will be in the north room. He will be suspicious of you as he thinks you will try to run away with the inheritance.

As a result, you will need a tracking spell to be cast on you to earn his trust. For that, you need to go to Sultar Malzak at the Training Grounds. After talking to you, he will go to Brannof Hall and cast the spell on you. Then, Lord Brannof will give you his Falcon clue.

James Newtap's clue

James Newtap is the next person you need to get a clue from. He is a plumber you will find at Pipe Alley, located to the east of the Town Square, between the Cloakroom and The Forager’s Wearhouse.

James Newtap will ask you to get a Hair Restoration Potion for him in exchange for the clue. For this, you need to travel to the Apothecary and speak to Ebsworth. He will teach you how to brew such a potion.

To brew this potion, you need to have a skill level of 50 in crafting potions. The ingredients you need for brewing are a lock of Hair Beast hair and a Scrap Rat. Hair Beasts can be found on Rubble Road near the Overgrown Pond. Keep in mind that these beasts will not drop hair unless you speak to Ebsworth.

Catching a Scrap Rat is a bit more tedious. Since you need the creature alive, you must get Red Cheese from Ebsworth and then go to the Scrapyard. Click on the bathtub in the Scrapyard, place the cheese under it, and use the broom to hold up the bathtub.

Once the Scrap Rat has been lured to the cheese, click on the bathtub to pull out the broom and catch the creature.

Then, take the Hair Beast hair and the Scrap Rat to Newtap to obtain his clue.

Hadley family clue

To get this clue, you have to head to the Delectable Dab restaurant and find Oswald Hadley. He will ask you for a Bigeye Gurnard Soup in exchange for his clue. You need to have a skill level of 61 in Cooking to make the soup.

The ingredients needed for making this soup are Stock and a Bigeye Fish. You can buy the Stock from Kevin, who is outside the restaurant, once you have reached Level 16 in Cooking. To get the Bigeye Fish, you need to be Level 56 in Fishing. Once you reach that level, you can go fishing for it at the Pirate Hideout.

After getting the ingredients, you can learn the recipe from the Recipe Book in the restaurant's kitchen, make it, and then serve it to Hadley to get the last clue.

Brighter Shores: Ending the Brannof Inheritance quest

Once you have all the clues, you can start looking for the treasure. For that, you first need to get Ink and a Quill. You can find them in Captain Jal Degreene’s office or Lord Brannof’s chambers.

Then, you just need to search for the symbols depicted by the clues. Once you have found all the symbols, you will be able to ascertain the treasure location, thus ending the Brannof Inheritance quest in Brighter Shores.
