Brighter Shores tutorial features easy way to farm money and items
Now that Brighter Shores has entered Early Access, there's plenty to discover, such as being able to farm money and items safely and easily. The method is a little slower than going into the world and slaughtering monsters, but the upside is that there's no danger involved. The only thing is that it’s not 100% certain if this method is by design or not.
Early into my time playing through the tutorial, I noticed something very interesting about the boxes in the town of Hopefort — they respawn incredibly quickly. That said, if you’re playing the Early Access of Brighter Shores and want to farm easy money, here’s how.
Note: Viewers should be advised that this method may be patched or updated at any time.
Brighter Shores tutorial features an unusual way to farm money and items
During the Brighter Shores tutorial, you’ll be able to commit larceny to farm money and items. At this point, there isn't any acknowledgment from an NPC about it. Early into the tutorial, you’ll learn how to do various things, such as equip a weapon or view your inventory.
Once the Goblin attack begins, you’ll be tasked with finding some people to assist in fending them off. One of these is missing a bow: you’ll have to go into the nearby Barracks to get it for them. You’ll also see several boxes — one next to each bed. Each of these contains around 50-80 copper, and occasionally, an item.
I found a +EXP Potion, two different types of fish, and a Guard Sword (Common). What’s interesting about this is by the time you’ve finished clearing these boxes out, at least one has respawned. Occasionally, they drop up to 300 copper. While this doesn’t seem like much, I had about 10 silver in around 10 minutes or so.
Sure, killing monsters in Brighter Shores may farm money faster, but following this method proved so much safer. It was also easy to get fish and exp potions. This could change in the future, but as of now, it’s arguably the easiest way to get some easy cash.
Moreover, you can even follow this process before unlocking one of the classes in Brighter Shores. I found that I was able to go back and do this repeatedly a few times throughout the tutorial. It could just be a bugged interaction, which is the nature of Early Access, or it may be intentional — though that’s unlikely. Just note that when opening treasure chests in the wild, they may respawn quickly.
