Bygones updated god roll guide for Destiny 2 PvE and PvP
Bygones has always been an incredibly popular Pulse Rifle in Destiny 2. It was first introduced alongside the Year 2 expansion back in 2018 and was later vaulted with Y4. Currently, with the Episode Revenant, Bungie has revived the weapon with new perks, making it even more powerful in the present sandbox. These additions have been received favorably and most rate this weapon quite highly.

Bygones PvE god roll in Destiny 2
The following perks are recommended on the Bygones Pulse Rifle for PvE:
- Arrowhead Brake for reduced recoil and increased Handling
- Flared Magwell for increased reload speed and Stability
- Attrition Orbs for creating orbs of light with sustained damage
- Kinetic Tremors for a shockwave upon sustained damage on a target
Shoot to Loot or Demolitionist are also great alternatives in the third column, alongside Frenzy or Firefly in the final column. Note that Pulse Rifles have Unstoppable perks tied to them in Episode Revenant, so having a good weapon with single-target capability will work in the endgame as well.
Bygones PvP god roll in Destiny 2
The following perks are recommended on the Bygones Pulse Rifle for PvP:
- Arrowhead Brake for reduced recoil and increased Handling
- Ricochet Rounds for increased Range and Stability
- Keep Away for increased Range, Accuracy, and Reload Speed when no enemies are nearby
- Headseeker for increased precision damage after body shots
Since Bygones is a ritual weapon, players can choose between 12 perks in each column. Zen Moment is also a great perk to have alongside Kill Clip. Moreover, Desperado can help increase the fire rate, while Perpetual Motion will grant increased stats while in motion.
How to get Bygones in Destiny 2?
Bygones can be obtained from completing Gambit matches, or via Focused Decoding from Drifter, in exchange for one Gambit Engram. Both sources can drop randomized perks on the weapon.
