Diablo 4 is finally getting an Armory system - here's what we know
One of the biggest features in Diablo 4 update 2.1 is the Armory system. That’s right, one of the features fans have been crying out for since launch is an Armory. You don’t always use the same build for every part of the game, whether it be PVP, raids, or grinding dungeons. There are changes in equipment, skills, and even your Paragon Boards when it comes to your various loadouts.
While there isn’t a lot of information available at this time, this is arguably one of the biggest parts of patch 2.1. If you’re frustrated at how annoying it is to change builds in Diablo 4, don’t worry — the Armory system will make that anger a thing of the past.
The Armory system will allow Diablo 4 players to finally swap builds easily
Through the Diablo 4 Armory system, players can customize and swap a variety of builds and loadouts on the fly. It will be accessible in select areas. However, you won’t be able to hop into Nightmare Dungeons or Boss areas and change your build — that is, unless you return to a major city.
At this time, it will be available in the major cities of Sanctuary like Kyovashad, or presumably any city that has a teleportation hub. You can also use it in end-game locales like Dark Citadel, Tree of Whispers, and the Kyovashad Training Grounds. As long as you can teleport back to one of these places, you’ll have access. We also know that Diablo 4’s Armory system will have five loadout slots per character — we don’t know if they will have additional costs attached to them though.
You can view the Equipment, Skills, Paragon Nodes, and Glyphs that you have attached to each build, as well. It has also been confirmed that it won’t cost gold when you swap between builds with different Paragon loadouts, so that’s a plus.
All you must do to get started is click on one of the empty slots in the loadout section of Diablo 4 and you can begin setting one up. Saving it will lock the following features to it, though you can almost assuredly go back and change these later:
- Equipped Items
- Paragon Board/Glyphs
- Skill Selections
- Class Mechanic Choices
Another handy feature is that the Armory will also show you if an item that’s normally attached to the loadout is missing, regardless of why it’s no longer around. You can name these as well to make it easy to remember what you were using it for. This is what we know about the Armory for now, though it could always change or be updated, as the PTR starts in December 2024 or as we get closer to the 2.1 update.
