Diablo 4: When is Season 7 expected to start?
Diablo 4 Season 7 is coming in a few months, with Season of Hatred feeling like the game’s longest season to date. In the last Campfire Chat, the developer teased some of the content coming next year with Season 7, and it does sound interesting. While the developer didn’t highlight the specific date or time, we do know when the current season will end — January 21, 2025 — so we can infer that Season 7 will begin at that time.
That is how every other season has worked so far, so it’s unlikely that there will be some kind of mysterious gap between Season 6 and Season 7. If you want to know when you can leave behind the Season of Rising Hatred, and get ready for Witchcraft, we’re here to help.
Note: The release date of Diablo 4 Season 7 is, of course, subject to change.
What is Diablo 4 Season 7’s release date?
According to the in-game Diablo 4 information, Season 7 will likely begin on January 21, 2025, when Season 6 ends. This is the final day of Season 6’s in-game presence, so it’s likely that later that evening, probably around 7 PM EST, the next season will kick off. There is a chance that it will drop earlier or later, but that isn't likely, as seen in previous seasons.
We cannot confirm that time, but it’s similar to previous launch times. The time remains speculative, but the date is confirmed in-game unless Blizzard changes it.
We have a little bit of information on Season 7, as well, though it is a bit on the sparse side. Fans will be able to get hands-on with it, during the upcoming PTR as well — it will be the first time Diablo 4 has let players try the Seasonal content in the PTR.
In Season 7 of Diablo 4, after the release date triggers, players will be able to channel the power of Witchcraft. There will be new enemies to grind (Headrotten), who will give the seasonal currency of Restless Rot. This, in turn, lets players purchase new Witchcraft powers, of which there will be over 20.
It sounds similar to the Vampiric system of Season of Blood but improved somewhat. Players will have access to five normal powers and one unique power at a time, and you can improve the powers in your inventory using the Restless Rot.
We’ll also be getting fancy, special, season-specific gems again, with Occult Gems. The gems themselves count as Unique and feature some remarkable powers. One example is Killing Wind, which, if you have three or more Eldritch Witch Powers slotted, you gain 25% Movement Speed and 15% Critical Strike Chance, which is massive.
