Diablo 4 VoH - Deeds of A Champion quest walkthrough
Deeds of A Champion is Diablo 4’s walkthrough of all the game’s content that you have access to, once you’ve completed the main story. Once all that has wrapped, you have the option of heading to Lorath’s house, where Kalien awaits you. There, you’ll be instructed to head back to the Kurast Bazaar, where this quest chain will take place. It’s a lengthy one, but nothing in it is especially challenging.
It’s a great quest for newcomers, to get a full idea of the various content that awaits — or if you’re a returning player, who may have missed a few seasons. Either way, once you’ve seen the ending of Diablo 4, you can begin Deeds of a Champion.
Steps to complete Deeds of A Champion in Diablo 4
Diablo 4’s Deeds of A Champion is picked up right after completing the main story, and once you’ve returned from Lorath’s house and gone back to the Kurast Bazaar, you can start the chain. In summation, you have six steps — at least two of them may already be completed. The others will have to be done in order. Here is everything you’ll be tasked with:
- Unlock all the Mercenaries.
- Conquer Kichuk Stronghold, complete the Tenets of Depravity questline, and defeat three dungeons in Nahantu.
- Complete the quests The Kurast Undercity and Undercity: Wail of the Forgotten, and defeat Terror of Five Hills in The Undercity.
- Claim a reward from the Tree of Whispers by gathering 10 Grim Favors in Nahantu zones.
- Open five Tortured Gifts in a Helltide, slay a Blood Maiden during a Helltide.
- Conquer Tier 20 of The Pit of Artificers.
How to complete Deeds of a Champion in Diablo 4
The first step of Deeds of a Champion in Diablo 4 requires you to unlock all the Mercenaries — you likely have already done this. If not, there are up to three relatively simple quests you’ll need to complete that begin at The Den:
- A Nameless Mystery
- Slayer’s Retribution
- A Feather on the Scale
The objectives are simple to follow and shouldn’t take too long to complete. Kichuk Stronghold will be introduced to you when you get the quest. It’s one of the locations you need to get all the Nahantu Waypoints — plus, it’s worth a good chunk of exp to complete it.
Kichuk is found in Diablo 4’s Nahantu region, in the northeast section. When you arrive, you must rescue the villagers by breaking them out of their cages and speaking to them. You’ll have to destroy waves of Lacuni that attack the villagers, and then run around the cave, breaking the pillars of stone that hold it up.
It’s relatively simple and will have you defeating packs of enemies at the same time. Once this is done and the cave has collapsed, you must defeat Kirma, Blood Bargainer. They aren’t a real threat — best them, light the post, and complete this part of the quest.
The Tenets of Depravity quest chain is next for Diablo 4’s Deeds of A Champion. We highlighted this quest previously, and although a little on the lengthy side, it will guide you step by step to the places you need to head to. Speak to a guard at Kurast Bazaar to get started on this four-quest chain.
Unfortunately, the dungeons you completed earlier in the campaign don’t count for this next step. Just run whichever three dungeons you want once you have that objective for Deeds of A Champion. You can just run to the end and defeat the boss while ignoring the rest of the dungeon — but you miss out on potentially great loot that way.
By now, you ought to have The Undercity unlocked in Diablo 4 — it’s required for the Deeds of A Champion quest, so either way, it’s getting unlocked. You must return to Kurast Bazaar and make sure you’ve completed The Kurast Undercity and Undercity: Wail of the Forgotten to trigger this.
Then, you’ll need to start an Undercity run and defeat the Terror of Five Hills boss, which awaits you inside the dungeon. Whether you finish out the run is up to you — you might as well, quite frankly.
The next step of Diablo 4’s Deeds of A Champion is incredibly easy: gather 10 Grim Favors in the Nahantu region. If you can find two five-point activities, like completing a specific dungeon or something — I recommend doing those. Once you get your reward from the Tree of Whispers, this step is done.
Opening 5 Tortured Gifts in a Helltide is also incredibly easy, especially if you do it at Peak Hours. Head to a Helltide where people are repeatedly killing the Blood Maiden, and take part. This gets you the Blood Maiden kill, and if you stick around for a few of them, tons of Aberrant Cinders.
These are used to open the chests. I recommend just opening the cheapest ones possible to make it faster. To summon a Blood Maiden, you (or someone else) need to contribute up to three Baneful Hearts at the altar, during any Helltide.
The only potentially challenging portion of Deeds of A Champion in Diablo 4 is completing Tier 20 of The Pit of Artificers. If you aren’t well-geared and using a solid build, this might be difficult. You can do this with another player if you need to.
This is how you unlock Torment I difficulty, so if you can’t complete it, you aren’t ready for Torment. It’s no different than any other Pit run out of Cerrigar — defeat waves of enemies as fast as possible, get to the portals, and defeat the boss at the end. Your grueling task ends here — once you’ve completed Tier 20 of The Pit, you can come back to Ormus, and claim your rewards.
