Diablo Immortal to host collaboration event with WoW 20th Anniversary: Here's everything we know

Diablo Immortal, Blizzard’s latest mobile action RPG is teaming up with WoW for its 20th Anniversary event. For a limited time, Diablo Immortal players will be able to unlock some incredible cosmetics based on classic legendary equipment, and even battle the mighty Lich King himself. A PVP event based on Arathi Basin, a new gem, and incredible cosmetics await players in this limited-time event.

No matter what class you play as in Diablo Immortal, you will have some kind of cosmetic weapon or skin to unlock during the WoW 20th Anniversary collaboration. On top of it, there’s the battle against the Lich King himself - here’s what’s going on.

What awaits players in Diablo Immortal WoW 20th Anniversary event?

The Diablo Immortal x WoW 20th Anniversary collaboration is scheduled for November 13, 2024 (3 am) to December 11, 2024 (2:59 am). While the time mentioned here is local server time, players can unlock some rewards by simply logging onto the game. Here’s a glimpse of what you can unlock for free:

  • Mourneskull (Two-Star) Legendary Gem.
  • 1 New World of Warcraft Weapon Skin.
  • 10 Legendary Crests.
  • Frostmourne Weapon Cosmetic*
  • Icecrown Pathway Portal*

If you’ve already unlocked either of the items marked with an asterisk (*), then you cannot unlock them a second time. These were made available in the Shadow of the Frozen Throne event, so players who missed out back then will get a second chance.

Players can also complete daily tasks, compete in Cutthroat’s Basin, and journey to the Fallen Citadel to fight the Lich King to earn Frozen Boons. These can be used to progress through the Eternal War and unlock some incredible weapon skins - 1 for each class. Do you want Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker in Diablo Immortal? It can now be yours.

  • Shadowmourne: Necromancer
  • Gorehowl: Barbarian
  • Thori’dal, the Stars’ Fury: Demon Hunter
  • Truthguard: Crusader
  • Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian: Wizard
  • Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker: Tempest
  • Remornia: Blood Knight
  • Fist of the Heavens: Monk

You can also earn legendary WoW cosmetics by taking part in the Fallen Citadel battle against the Lich King. If you’ve faced him in World of Warcraft, it will be a very familiar fight. However, you won't be at a complete loss since two random skill orbs, Tranquilizing Shot and Healing Circle, will be there to help.

You will need to earn Fallen Citadel Gates from Dungeon Content and log-in rewards to fight the Lich King. These also drop from monster kills during this event - though that’s rare.

Arathi Basin is also coming to Diablo Immortal during the WoW 20th Anniversary collaboration event. Cutthroat Basin has groups of players trying to hold onto the Mill, Smithy, and Stables, to claim victory.

As this is Conqueror, Character levels, items, and gems are normalized to make it fair. There are also Skill Orbs to use here: Blessing of Kings, Stealth, Eagle Eye, and Blink - familiar abilities from World of Warcraft’s classes. Winning here also helps you progress in the Eternal War. Speaking of the Eternal War, there’s also a Murloc Familiar Skin to unlock, which has Master Angler Traits (double the fish you catch occasionally).

For fans of the Phantom Market, there are some incredible cosmetics here - the biggest prizes are the Betrayer’s Bonds Cosmetic Set and Betrayer’s Bonds Metamorphosis. Want to look like Illidan? Well you can, but it is incredibly rare - 0.13% chance of dropping on the first pull.

On the subject of paid cosmetics, you can also unlock the Ashbringer from the in-game shop, which is a cosmetic version of the legendary Paladin two-handed sword. There’s also a Corrupted Ashbringer, for those who prefer that style.

This Diablo Immortal event starts tomorrow, November 13, 2024, and will last until December 11, 2024. If you’re a fan of World of Warcraft and want to celebrate in the world of Sanctuary, now’s your chance.
