Bonemeal in Enshrouded is one of the essential items you need to stockpile in the game. As the name suggests, Bonemeal is made from Bones ground in Grinding Stones. To start making your own Bonemeal, you'll need to get Grinding Stones first, then gather Bones from various sources. The main use of Bonemeal is as a crafting material for various alchemical recipes and farming purposes, both of which are quite essential in Enshrouded.

How to unlock the recipe for Bonemeal in Enshrouded

To start crafting Bonemeal, you'll first need to unlock the recipe by awakening the Alchemist. This process begins with completing the Powerful Alchemy quest, which becomes available early in the game after you've recruited the Blacksmith. The Alchemist is located in his Ancient Vault in the eastern part of the Springlands.

Once the Alchemist has joined your base, you'll be able to craft Grinding Stones. To craft these Grinding Stones, you'll need 10x Flintstone and 15x Stone.

How to find Flintstone and Stone for crafting Grinding Stones

Before you can start making Bonemeal, you need to gather the resources to construct the Grinding Stones. Stone is abundant in Embervale, especially around your starting base. It is simple to collect, so gather them as soon as you can. Flintstone, on the other hand, is slightly rare but can be found just to the northwest of your first base, near the initial Shrouded area.

If you need a larger supply, head to the Small Flint Mine located to the north of your base. Collecting these resources early on will streamline setting up your Alchemist’s Workshop.

Once your Grinding Stones are set up in your base, you can begin crafting Bonemeal. The primary ingredient you'll need is Bones, which can be sourced from various creatures and enemies in the game. Hunting animals like sheep, deer, and wolves in Embervale is a reliable way to gather Bones.

Additionally, defeating Skeletons also has a chance of dropping Bones, making it fairly easy to accumulate a stockpile. After collecting Bones, access the Grinding Stones' crafting menu and deposit them into its inventory. For every 1x Bone you place, you'll receive 2x Bonemeal. The crafting process takes approximately one minute to complete, after which your Bonemeal will be ready for use.
