Everything new in Destiny 2 The Dawning 2024 event
The Dawning in Destiny 2 is just a few days away from hitting the official servers. Players can expect their tasks to be similar to those in previous editions, including handing out cookies to NPCs and farming different recipe ingredients. With the December 5 TWID, Bungie confirmed most of the official items coming with The Dawning on December 10, 2024, alongside a community event for emblems.

Destiny 2 The Dawning 2024 and everything new in the event
To start, Destiny 2 players will find a special armor ornament added to the Eververse shop for all three classes. This is the same Dragon-themed armor set leaked a few weeks ago, which will be available for both Silver and Bright Dust.
Players can choose to spend one currency if they eventually run low on the other. Here is the official artwork of the armor pieces posted on Bungie's blog post:
Note that this is meant for cosmetics only and does not provide any stats.
The other item coming to The Dawning is the new Adaptive Framed Heavy Linear Fusion Rifle, Mistral Lift. Here are the perks available in the final two columns:
- Third column: Withering Gaze, Closing Time, Clown Cartridge, Envious Assassin, Keep Away, Moving Target, Reconstruction
- Fourth column: Bait and Switch, High Ground, Firing Line, Precision Instrument, Frenzy, High Impact Reserves, Vorpal Weapon
There will be a curated version available from Eva at the Tower. Every perk can be enhanced by leveling up, but the weapon itself cannot be crafted.
There are rumors that the Mistral Lift is a three-burst Heavy weapon, similar to the Stormchase Linear Fusion Rifle. This can be confirmed once the event goes live on December 10.
Bungie also revealed that previous weapons from The Dawning's pool, such as Flacioclasm, Zephyr, Stay Frosty, and more, will be updated with new perks. Players can refer to our complete list of new perks on old The Dawning weapons for more information.
Lastly, players can take part in a community event, where making a certain set of cookies will increase their chances of getting three rare emblems. Some of the cookies are as follows:
First week of The Dawning (Starts December 10)
- Gjallardoodles for Zavala
- Bright-Dusted Snowballs for Tess Everis
- Starwort Thins for Elsie Bray
- Neomun-Cake for Nimbus - oh, hey, new cookie!
The second week of The Dawning (Starts December 17)
- Traveler Donut Holes for Ikora
- Classic Butter Cookie for Eva Levante
- Dark Chocolate Motes for The Drifter
Third week of The Dawning (Starts December 24)
- Vanilla Blades for Shaxx
- Lavender Ribbon Cookies for Saint-14
- Etheric Coldsnaps for Variks
The emblems celebrate the Destiny 2 Vanguard of all three classes. They are named Confectionary Commander, Epicurean Extraordinaire, and Handcrafter Hunter.
