Final Fantasy 14: How to unlock Echoes of Vana'diel raid
The Final Fantasy 14 7.1 update introduced the new Echoes of Vana’diel raid. For some fans, this is just another raid, but for long-time fans like myself who actively played Final Fantasy 11 for many years, this is a huge, exciting prospect. At the time of writing, only one part of this Alliance Raid is available — Jeuno: The First Walk. Later on, we’ll get further updates to this Alliance Raid, which is incredibly exciting.
This came alongside the many changes added in the Crossroads update, and you don’t even have to do the new MSQ first, as long as you’ve completed the main Dawntrail scenario, you’re good to go. Here’s how to get started.
Where to unlock Echoes of Vana’diel raid in Final Fantasy 14
Begin Echoes of Vana’diel in Final Fantasy 14, you need to be Level 100 and have completed the Dawntrail main scenario quests. As long as you’re caught up on everything in 1.0, you’ll be ready to get started. It’s also incredibly easy to pick up the quest — you may completely pass it by if you aren’t paying attention.
Head to Tuliyollal, and speak to the NPC Hoobigo Messenger, who stands right near the Aetheryte Crystal. As soon as you teleport into Tuliyollal in Final Fantasy 14, you can begin unlocking Echoes of Vana’diel in Final Fantasy 14. They will give you the quest, An Otherworldly Encounter, so accept that and chat with the NPC.
After chatting with the messenger, teleport to Mamook, where there’s trouble brewing with the Mamool Ja. Head across town to speak with Miilal Ja, and watch the cutscene that unfolds. A mysterious traveler had appeared and had only recently awakened. So we’ll need to go see who, or what, awaits.
They definitely looked like they belonged in Vana’diel, and revealed they are an Elvaan, not an Elezen. He was also familiar with the village of Mamook, which also makes sense, as the capital of Mamool Ja in FF11 was Mamook.
After the cutscene, head west to the next quest objective, for the Echoes of Vana’diel unlock in FF14. There’s no teleport location over there, so just take the trek by land or air, whichever you prefer.
After the cutscene, you’ll speak to the Wanderer, and begin another cutscene. Once that wraps up, you’ll unlock Jeuno: The First Walk, as the first part of the Final Fantasy 14 Echoes of Vana’diel Alliance Raid. You need an average item level of 695, as well, before you take part.
The other phases will unlock later (patch 7.3, and 7.5 respectively). After this Alliance Raid, you will have a few quests to complete, which will lead you into the next phase of the raid, at a later date.
