How to add your friends in Brighter Shores
While you can add your friends in Brighter Shores, there’s very little you can do with them at this time. Of course, this could change as time goes on. If you want to add friends to your list in the early days, it’s easy to do so, but it feels like there’s virtually no point to it other than to talk to someone in this game. Most of the game is designed for single-player content, other than having someone help you pull in a fishing net.
It’s worth pointing out that Brighter Shores is in Early Access, so friends functionality could be added later. While there’s very little you can do with it now, here’s how to add people to your friends list.
How to put people on your friends list in Brighter Shores
You can find your friends list in the bottom right corner of Brighter Shores’ UI. Look for the three mannequins icon under the Yellow Hand (Emotes) icon. Clicking this will bring up the Community Tab. Here, you’ll find Nearby Players, Blocked Players and Friends. Select Friends, and then select Invite Friend.
However, it’s worth noting that you need to enter their full name as written—with spaces and everything. If they have a hashtag and number behind their name, that’s important too, so include that. Afterward, just hit Send invitation and wait for your friend to accept.
Right now, you can’t really do much with this system. You can transfer yourself to the same server as your friend if you’re both online. You can also send them DMs, but other than that, there’s not a lot else to do.
There’s no party functionality, and the only thing you can do in combat is pull monsters from your added friend. Perhaps players will use this to help people level up, but we’ll see how that pans out.
Other than talking to people specifically, there’s not much you can do with the friends list in Andrew Gower's new MMORPG. Hopefully, improved party functionality won’t be a part of the Premium Pass. As this system updates, we'll update this accordingly.
