How to get Capes in Brighter Shores
Capes are the main form of flaunting your Profession Mastery to your friends in Brighter Shores, at least in its Early Access. They go in a dedicated Cape slot, so they don't interrupt your loadout in any Episode. That said, the game doesn't declare on the outset where you can get them, or what exactly their requirements are. In this guide, we're going to discuss all about Capes.
Before we begin, a disclaimer: this article is based on how Capes work in the current version of Brighter Shores Early Access. As such, their functionalities or source of acquisition may be subject to change in the future.
Where to get Capes in Brighter Shores
You can get Capes in Brighter Shores from a specific shop in the Hopeport town area (Episode 1) called the Cloakroom. To get to the Cloakroom, take the eastern exit from Town Square to reach Old Street West. Continue due east to Old Street East, and the Cloakroom is the first building that you will see to your left. To get there, you have to go through Pipe Alley to the north first.
For a different reference point, the Cloakroom can be found right next to the Forager's Warehouse, where you can buy Foraging tools such as the Secateurs.
You can venture into the shop as early as you want, but you can't purchase Capes until you reach Level 50 in at least one of the 18 Professions in Brighter Shores. Evey Cape is Profession-specific, and the fancier tiers unlock at higher threshold levels.
None of this is meant to be purchased in your first few days of playing Brighter Shores. Naturally, their exorbitant pricing reflects that, especially at higher tiers. Regardless of the Profession, all Capes cost the same in the same level Threshold. Here's how much you'll have to spend:
- Journeyman Capes: unlock at Profession Level 50, cost 504 Silver
- Adept Capes: unlock at Profession Level 100, cost 1 Gold 290 Silver
- Expert Capes: unlock at Profession Level 200, cost 3 Gold 160 Silver
- Ultimate Capes: unlock at Profession Level 500, cost 9 Gold 360 Silver
Note that the Cloakroom is the only place that sells these Capes, so you'll have to come back here to get a cape pertinent to all Professions from later Episodes too.
What are the uses of a Cape in Brighter Shores?
All Capes in Brighter Shores are purely ornamental. They provide no stats or tactical advantage whatsoever; instead, they're supposed to be a trophy of your high level in a Profession. While the total player level itself is a reflection of your total grind, Capes are yet another way to throw in some further personalization.
