How to get and use Chaosium in Once Human
Chaosium in Once Human, a new type of resource, was introduced in The Way of Winter scenario and can only be found in northern Nalcott. It is used to control heat or as a high-energy fuel. Obtaining it is not too difficult, and there are a couple of ways you can get it.

Once Human: How to get Chaosium
Crafting
Chaosium can be crafted on regular and electric furnaces by using Hot Rock and Cold Crystal ores as raw materials. You also need acid for crafting.
Here are the two recipes for this resource:
- 30x Hot Rock ore + 1x Acid
- 30x Cold Crystal ore + 1x Acid
Both recipes will provide you with 30 Chaosium.
Gathering
You can gather Chaosium in two ways. The first is by defeating Vultures, which drop the resource as loot. The second is by collecting Chaosium Barrels from Vulture strongholds.
One of the best spots to farm Chaosium in the early game is the Frost Forge, the Vulture stronghold in the Vena Fjord region. The area is filled with regular and Elite Vultures. There are also quite a few Chaosium Barrels inside the large cavern in the stronghold.

Uses of Chaosium
Chaosium in Once Human is used as fuel for Chaosium Lanterns and Thermal Towers.
Chaosium Lanterns
Chaosium Lanterns use Chaosium as fuel to maintain temperature.
If the temperature is -10°C or below, Chaosium Lanterns will increase it by 15°C. If the temperature is 30°C or above, they will decrease it by 15°C.
Thermal Towers
Thermal Towers also use Chaosium as fuel. The amount of Chaosium needed depends on their temperature effect and radiation range, so you should keep resupplying the depot.
Thermal Towers also produce Chaosium Waste, which you can purify to get pure Chaosium and other materials.
