How to play co-op multiplayer in Towers of Aghasba

If you were wondering whether Towers of Aghasba has co-op multiplayer features, the answer is yes. It's possible to have your friends over in your world or travel to theirs to explore, build, plant, and harvest together. However, this cannot done through an option in the main menu, leading to some confusion in the playerbase regarding whether the feature is available in Early Access at all.

If you want to join a co-op multiplayer session in Towers of Aghasba, this guide is for you.

To join multiplayer sessions in Towers of Aghasba, you have to first reach the Multiplayer Gate. Since it is located on Midrath Island, you will have to repair the bridge from Amani Island to get here. Once you do get to the Midrath base location, however, the Multiplayer Gate is relatively close. To get there, walk northwest from the Midrath Isles portal location.

Once you get there, you can host your own multiplayer session, which generates a path code. Your friends can enter this code from their respective Multiplayer Gates to join your game session. Likewise, you can also enter someone else's path code to join their world instead.

Although there was a Teleport to MP Gate option in the pause menu of the playtest version, it has been removed from the game now. Therefore, players must now make a bit of progress before they can have friends over or join someone else's session.

Can you beat the whole game on multiplayer?

As of right now, Towers of Aghasba does not have the scope for a full co-op campaign. Setting aside the fact that you cannot co-op until you've already left Amani Island, many progression elements do not carry over despite beating objectives in someone else's world.

For example, growing an ecosystem (Colossal Tree level) on someone else's world will not give your player character the Health boost you would get in your own world. You can, however, pick up the fruits of their labor — such as seeds and drops you haven't unlocked yet. Activities like fishing are also arguably easier when done in co-op mode.
