Hunter Tether to be enabled in Destiny 2 Vesper's Host Dungeon

The Hunter Tether ability has been disabled for the Destiny 2 Vesper's Host Dungeon, ever since the latter's launch in the game. Part of the reason was to grant an equal playing field for the World's First race, as having the tethering super would mean a significant advantage in both the Raneiks and Puppeteer boss fight. However, it seems the 'ban' has gone on for far too long, and it is time for Hunters to start using it inside the Dungeon.

Recently, Bungie issued an official statement regarding a fix it is working on. It was the company's first confirmation of an upcoming fix on the issue, alongside an estimated timeframe for a patch deployment.

Bungie is enabling the Hunter Tether in Destiny 2 Vesper's Host

Destiny 2 players can expect the Hunter Void super ability, Shadowshot Tether, to be enabled inside the Vesper's Host Dungeon. This will soon lead to everyone using it against bosses such as Raneiks and Puppeteer, allowing them to ease up each fight with a constant weakness debuff on multiple hitboxes.

Bungie revealed that a fix to the issue was almost ready for deployment on November 19, 2024, which followed a series of crashes, leading the developer to postpone the update.

However, the new timeframe for the fix has been revealed to be mid-January 2025. Here's Bungie's official statement regarding the fix in Destiny 2:

"We are currently targeting a fix for issues impacting the Hunter’s Tether in Vesper’s Host in mid-January. Through investigation and attempted fixes, we've discovered a few complexities regarding this issue."

Regarding a final release date, Bungie further stated:

"Once our current fix is thoroughly tested and validated, we will provide a more exact date for when this issue is expected to be resolved."

Players can expect a patch on either January 7 or 14, 2025, since both dates count as the starting weeks of Revenant Act III.

Bungie could also target the fix with other changes on launch day or delay it till mid-January, as they stated, and release on January 14, 2025.
